New users receive an email invitation. Create a Plex account to access the shared library.
Plex offers official apps for desktop, mobile, and most smart TVs.
Device capability affects streaming performance. The desktop app or streaming devices
(Apple TV, Roku, etc.) are recommended over web browsers or built-in TV apps.
Newer devices handle remote streaming more efficiently.
Log in to Overseerr using your Plex account. Click the request button on a title to add it to the queue.
You can monitor request completion status within the app.
Movies typically take approximately 5 minutes to appear. TV seasons take ~10 minutes.
Times vary depending on file size and server activity.
Content without an official digital release will download once available.
Plex prefers native resolution playback. If your device can't handle it,
the server will transcode (convert) the file in on the fly in real time, which can cause buffering
on weaker hardware.
If buffering occurs, manually lower playback quality in the Plex app under
Playback Settings - Quality.
Choose a bitrate lower than the original (e.g., 10 Mbps or 8 Mbps 1080p).
